The most recent issue of BrickJournal (a magazine made for and by LEGO fans) is focused on LEGO animation. My friend and fellow LEGO animator, David Pagano, was a guest editor for this issue and did a great job getting together some amazing articles about various aspects of LEGO animation. I contributed an article designed to help a beginner make their first stop-motion animation.
